The Stallion Springs Community Emergency Response Team is conducting basic training soon! Become a valuable asset to the community in the event of an emergency/disaster!
Classes are free and include all written training materials for the day classes.
Introduction and orientation will be held on April 29, 6:00pm at the CSD conference room. Classes will be held on the following Saturdays: May 2, May 9, May 16 8am – 4:30pm. Classes are conducted in the SSCERT building behind the community center.

NOTE 1: If you cannot attend the Course all three Saturdays, or complete all of the Class Units each Saturday, you still can Register for the Course (which you already have done by Signing Up). Just attend as many units as possible, and complete the missing Units later when we schedule a future CERT Basic Course!
You will not take the Final Exam nor join the Final Exercise until all of the Units and required minimum 20 hours of instruction are completed. (However, if you will not graduate due to incomplete Units, you still can attend and monitor the Final Exam and Disaster Exercise for future reference. You will enjoy it!).
Once you complete all the Units in the course, you will graduate and receive your CERT Basic Course Certificate, your CERT Vest, Helmet and Badge!
This flexible plan has been very beneficial for many of our previous students, and allowed them the opportunity to become valuable members in their communities as CERTs!
NOTE 2: LUNCH – Is scheduled for one hour, 12 – 1 PM. Lunch is not provided. However, students can bring their own lunch and eat in the CERT Building, order or pick up from our local Stallion Springs restaurants, or pre-order and pick-up from restaurants in Tehachapi.
Attire: Weather appropriate, casual and comfortable attire – pants/jeans (no dresses/skirts/shorts, no tank tops), comfortable sturdy shoes (no open toed or open heeled shoes), bring jackets (can be windy on the CSD property), sweaters, sweatshirts as needed for weather. Those with long hair need to use hair bands, clips or baseball type caps to control hair during the “Fire Safety” Unit, as you will be taught how to use a real fire extinguisher.
Refreshments & Snacks: Coffee, Tea, Water and some snacks will be provided in the classroom at the 8 AM Check In, and during breaks. If you prefer special items, please bring them with you. The Stallion Springs General Store at the Chevron Station, also sells coffee, sodas, waters, snacks and some other packaged foods.
